The shop is open daily during summer for all those necessities you forgot to bring. ie. The newspaper, bread milk and ice creams etc. They also do takeaways during summer. 

Fishing from the rocks or the beach often produces a good feed of fish.  Fishing from the Mangonui wharf for Kingfish, John Dory or even sprats can be great fun for the whole family.
